Advantages:
Cost Advantage: Mature production process, high output, lower price than recycled nylon, easier to scale.
High Strength & Dimensional Stability: Crisp, good shape retention, wrinkle-resistant.
Excellent UV Resistance: Resists sunlight, less prone to fading.
Quick-Drying: Hydrophobic, moisture evaporates rapidly.
Extremely Wide Application: Covers the broadest range from apparel to home textiles.
Disadvantages:
Relatively Stiffer Hand Feel: Can have a plastic-like feel, though modified through techniques or fine-denier fibers. This recycled fabric sometimes has a slightly inferior hand feel compared to virgin polyester.
Prone to Static Electricity: Noticeable in dry environments.
Oil Affinity & Staining: Similar to nylon.
Complex Recycling Stream: Beware of "greenwashing"; choose recycled fabric from brands with traceable certification (e.g., GRS).
